Ameru

The typical cuisine among the Ameru is ‘Nyoni’ (mashed green peas or beans; traditional vegetables; and arrowroot, yams or potatoes)
Riddles known as Gwata Ntae – Ndagwata among the Ameru has always been popular
The Njuri Ncheke shrine is a gazette heritage site which is accessible to the public when the Council of elders is not is use of it. Cultural artifacts and tradition herbs popular among the ameru are under preservation at the Meru Museum
The Ameru are also the largest producers of Miraa which is consumed both locally and internationally

The Abasuba are settledmostly in the Rusinga island which they named. During the Rusinga festival the Abasuba people showcase their culture in efforts to preserve their way of lives.
Subas were traditionally involved in rain Making sacrifices such as animal sacrifices to appease the gods and clan spirits Suba District. These were carried out in special shrines which can still be found across Suba such as Utende, Kwitutu, Mungusa and Kiboye Shrines.
Suba people also practiced rock art which can be found in the caves of Kwitone in GulweMfangano.
